PROJECT CASE STUDY
A proposed resort pool case study covering tile appearance, wet-area specifications, sample approval, quality checks, and project supply.

A resort pool is viewed in changing sunlight, through moving water, and alongside landscaping, decks, guestrooms, and hospitality spaces. The tile selection must support this visual experience while meeting the specific requirements of immersed and surrounding areas.
This anonymized case profile covers a 42-room boutique resort. The representative supply scope includes the pool basin, waterline, steps, surrounding deck, and changing-room floors.
Project Snapshot
- Location: Phuket, Thailand
- Project type: Resort swimming pool
- Completion: September 2024
- Supplied area: Approximately 760 m²
- Applications: Pool basin, waterline, steps, deck, and changing-room floors
- Products and formats: Project-specific blue porcelain mosaic in 48 × 48 mm and light-grey textured porcelain in 600 × 600 mm
- Installation system: Specified and approved by the local pool consultant and installation contractor
The Design Challenge
For the representative brief, the team reviewed colour both in and out of water, mosaic scale, grout interaction, step-edge details, transitions, and the relationship between the blue basin and light-grey deck surfaces.
Confirm whether the project needed:
- A consistent water colour across the basin
- Coordination between submerged and dry surfaces
- Special details for steps, corners, waterlines, or drains
- Defined pattern direction or face distribution
- Small-format or larger-format modules
- Packing by zone or installation sequence
Separate Every Application

Pool basin, waterline, deck, shower, and changing-room surfaces do not share one universal requirement. In this working profile, the pool consultant assigned the mosaic to immersed areas and the textured porcelain to surrounding dry and wet circulation zones, while the local project team retained responsibility for standards, chemical exposure, maintenance, waterproofing, bonding, drainage, and movement details.
Never describe a product as pool-safe, non-slip, chemical-proof, or waterproof without exact supporting evidence. Ceraglow supplies tile; the completed system also depends on design, substrate, membrane, adhesives, grout, joints, drainage, and workmanship.
Sample Approval and Production Control
The working approval schedule recorded product code, body, water-absorption group, size, thickness, finish, colour range, edge, and intended use. Those fields and the supporting test reports must be checked against the actual order before publication.
The representative review covered water-absorption documentation, chemical-resistance evidence, surface-use information, dimensional checks, shade review, and mosaic-sheet alignment. The published page must show only documents that match the exact supplied products.
Packing and Site Coordination
Pool projects often include several shapes, colours, and application zones. Describe how the actual order was packed and identified so the installer could distinguish basin, waterline, steps, deck, and spare stock.
If Ceraglow did not design or supervise the installation, state that clearly. Credit the pool consultant, architect, contractor, and installer only with permission.
The Finished Pool Environment

The outcome section should rely on completed photographs and verified feedback. Show water colour, transitions, edge details, surrounding architecture, and the appearance at different times of day.
